  The limiting factors of our worm box were the fact that we didn't feed them, and their environment was not very habitable and they had no water.   The way we could have reduced the factors would have being able to feed the worms keep their environment moist and give them   water.  These limiting factors were density independent factors, they weren't caused by the population, but us.  If they were density dependent then they would have to depend on the size of the population.
